World Cup Competition

Category : Events

If any of you have been supporting us for some time, you may remember that for the past 2 Football World Cups, we have run a competition to raise a few pounds for the Charity and to add a bit more interest to the football (especially if you are not a fan!!).  You do not need to have any knowledge of football to enter – all you will need is contained on the sheet!  Basically, you just have to predict which teams will progress through the various stages and have a guess at a few more questions!  It costs £2 to enter and all completed entries will need to be returned to us by midnight on Wednesday 13th June.   There will be a small prize for the winner!

To request a sheet, please email us at and we will send one to you!  Payment can then be made via our PayPal Giving Page or with cash to any of the Trustees!

Smarties & Cedar House Day Nurseries

Category : Events

We are delighted that we have been chosen to be the charity of the year for the Smarties and Cedar House Day Nurseries in Mansfield for 2018.  We have worked with them in the past and are so pleased to be continuing our relationship with them and with their wonderful owners, Steve & Christine Doubtfire.

As part of their fundraising, they have already hosted a Curry Night, have a Walk planned for June and some of the staff will be undertaking the Nottingham Half Marathon in September!

The following information has been sent to us by Steve to share a little more about the Peak Pilgrimage in June.

“To coincide with the 10 year anniversary of this important charity, who support the work of King’s Mill Hospital Neonatal Unit Mansfield, a group of  about 10 seasoned ramblers have selected to undertake the Derbyshire Peak Pilgrimage. This is going to be a 40 mile 2 day event to be held on the 23rd and 24th June. As usual the walk is self funded so any donations made to support our fund raising will be given to the Emily Harris Foundation and in part our aim is to give their family room a makeover and make it more attractive for children 5 – 15 years to stay and play while their parents are busy. The project will require some furniture to sit on and for storage, TV/DVD/games consoles and a range of suitable toys, books, games to suit the children who might be spending some considerable periods of time on site without much to do. If we exceed our target and resource the room with funds remaining, all the remaining fund will be handed over to the Foundation to continue its important work.

To sponsor us please use the link below and thank you in anticipation.
